thedextriarchy So ASCII/emoji art is notoriously bad for screen readers, and I’m curious: is there an extension that parses text for the patterns of common meme formats and describes the whole block instead of reading every character? If not, are there technical reasons that wouldn’t work?

emilymbender Today's approach to "AI" R&D:

1) Pump out lots and lots and lots of papers.
2) Progress is so fast! Look how many papers there are on arXiv.
3) Sorry, no time to create meaningful evaluation. Gotta keep up with arXiv!
4) See, look at those big numbers. That's SUPERHUMAN!

emilymbender Also, even if the whole point of Google's pubapprove process is checking "does this make Google look bad", it's clearly ineffective.
