nlpmattg @boknilev Fair question. The thing that concerns me is the strong incentive that everyone (especially people in privileged groups) has to go to arXiv first. It's a prisoner's dilemma. Individuals are better off submitting to arXiv, but it harms the community by breaking blind review.

nlpmattg I've had a lot of conversations about this with a lot of people at NAACL. I now think there's an even simpler fix to all of this. (1) Ban arxiv before review, and (2) speed up TACL, to give a better outlet for those that don't want to wait for the next conference. twitter.com/nlpmattg/statu…
