ojahnn I do have a clear separation in my class between "let's try to figure this out by experimenting with a code cell" tasks and "write your own solution to problem XY" tasks - the former is done in the class notebook, the latter is done with VSCode.
ojahnn For instance, the notebook that I wrote to teach regular expressions has an "import re" line in each executable cell. Redundant if run in correct order, but useful to make each cell executable on its own without raising unexpected errors.
