AnimaAnandkumar More importantly, go back to fundamentals. Low hanging fruits of are getting exhausted. You will need creativity + hard work. You will need techniques outside to make a unique impact. Invest in that learning and focus on long term.

evandmitri @DiagnosticChick Adding it to the list of reasons I’m continually disappointed in the American education system. It seems built for those who are naturally confident and competitive with little room for mentorship or nurturing of skills outside the classroom

DiagnosticChick I don't have time to get into this, but a thought for my prof friends: the adversarial teacher-student relationship precedent set by intro-level weed-out classes is probably part of why students don't come to y'all's office hours or ask you for help when they're struggling.
