@p_humm @spinfocl @sciforfuture Und for all we know hat Esken einfach beim Mentionen nicht genau hingeguckt und Özdemir selbst gescherzt.

jeremyburge Using a phone number to sign up for services has been the single greatest coup for the social media and advertising industries. One unique ID that is used to link your identity across every platform on the internet.

That is why every startup wants your phone number.

jeremyburge For years Facebook claimed the adding a phone number for 2FA was only for security. Now it can be searched and there's no way to disable that. pic.twitter.com/zpYhuwADMS

zerdeve Yikes! I’m glad there are journals that explicitly refuse to evaluate articles based on such capricious criteria. Who can claim to be the arbiter of such judgments and feel confident that they’re not being a gatekeeper instead? (Rhetorical q. I know in practice many do!) twitter.com/cristinelegare…

Katchootoo @nadyabliss It leads to UI atrocities, an increase in development time as wheels must be recreated, and products which don’t work for entire segments of society.

nlpmattg My thought is to target particular aspects of "reading" with focused datasets, carving out slices at a time and building a sizable dataset that's just a paragraph and a question as input, and easily-evaluable output. Lump all of these together, and train and test on all of them.

nadyabliss The false dichotomy between tech and humanities has also contributed to the lack of diversity in tech.

This notion that you must be a certain type of person to go into tech has contributed to algorithm bias, lack of security, and propagation of disinformation.
