EmmaSManning I love teaching ling, and I'm excited to combine my experience bringing it to a younger age group with my experience as a homeschooler in online classes to make this great! My only fear is that I won't get enough students to make it happen... so again, please spread the word 😃

EmmaSManning Linguistics - the science language - is such an important subject (we all use language!) but is seldom taught before college. In the last few summers I had a rare opportunity to introduce it to teenage students at JHU's Center for Talented Youth. Now I want to reach more!

angryblkhoemo Police existing inherently hurts the vast majority of Black ppl. Tyler Perry is not one of those ppl

Not only does his obscene wealth insulate him from the harm police do to regular Black folks/communities; his obscene wealth specifically creates a personal need to keep police

angryblkhoemo Like, of course Tyler Perry (and the other Black elites in his social class) "need" cops. Police exist to protect capital.

Tyler Perry reminding us he's Black every 5 mins doesn't change that his interests are ultimately capitalist before having any overall concern for Black ppl

angryblkhoemo I highkey think it's just another form of anti-Black racism that, anytime a topic around racial justice comes up, the mainstream's go-to is asking completely unqualified Black celebs who, on top of being uninformed and unread af, ultimately have little to no skin in the game twitter.com/MrErnestOwens/…

Deswegen ist "follow the science" falsch.

cfiesler Consider the many, many datasets that consist of tweets, reddit posts, etc. Many of the researchers who work with this "data" (because it's research with DATA not PEOPLE!) might not have ever even interacted with an IRB or thought of their research as involving humans.
